Silver and Black, Raiders Exhibit, September 1995-January 1996
Clippings on the back, "Dec. 17, 1970--Maybe you think George Blanda isn't big with Raider fans. Enthusiastic supporters unfurl banner at Chiefs game that tells the story."
"Aug. 25, 1976--Raider fans were adamant about who they thought was AFC Player of the Year."
"Aug. 6, 1976--'I came up here to play football,' says George Blanda (above) as he works out at summer training camp and waits for the Raiders owners to decide whether he will kick footballs this year... or start a new life. The aging quarterback-placekicker is still a hero to Oakland fans; in 1970 (left, above) supporters unfurled a banner that exaggerated Blanda's status only slightly. 'They inspired me to play better than I could,' he says."
Photo shows a crowd at a game holding up a sign that says "God is alive and wearing No. 16."
