Typed on the back, "Dole race plane, Neg. No. 2837." Photo shows the "miss Doran" parked in a waiting circle on the runway, possibly waiting for their turn to takeoff. In the background, are a line of some of the other planes in the race, (in order as they appear) the "Oklahoma," "Aloha," "El Encanto," "Miss Holllydale" [which dropped out of the race on August 13, three days before the actual start of the race].
