Handwritten on the back, "Oak. Intl. Airport plane in 'Dole Race' Ford (Tin Goose) Tri Motor." Photo shows a Ford tri-motor parked at the airport. The door is open on the side and three men are standing next to the plane. The men appear to be talking. There was no Ford tri-motor in the Dole Race which was held in August 1927. The first flight from the Bay Area to Hawaii made by Hegenberger and Maitland two months before the Dole Race was made in a Fokker tri-motor.
