Clipping on the back, Dec. 31, 1938-- "On this shipbuilding slip, now occupied by the rapidly-growing hull of a Government lighthouse tender, the Moore Dry Dock Company will build the first large ships constructed on this coast in 17 years--two fast cargo vessels for the Maritime Commission. This 175-foot tender will be launched before the keel of the first cargo boat is laid.- Tribune Photo." Photo shows part of a ship with its wood framing being constructed. Several large contruction cranes are around the ship and a building is in the background.
