Tribune clipping on the back, May 25, 1938-- "As the Oakland Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Oakland Advertising Club joined at luncheon yesterday, aviators from far and near gathered to celebrate opening of the Pacific International Air Races Saturday. Among those present were (left to right) Harry Bell of the Junior Chamber, toastmaster; M.C. Gale (standing), president of the Junior Chamber; Mary Jane Johnstone, air race official; R.G. Hunter, vice-president of the Advertising Club; Col. Roscoe Turner, speed flier; Mike Murphy, stunt flier, and V.J. LaMotte, president of the Oakland Chamber of Commerce.
