Tribune caption on the back, Dec. 5, 1946-- "Angry pickets chase Lieut. Douglas Mortensen, Mesa, Ariz., after he had unsuccessfully attempted to get his wife, a British war bride, out of Kahn's Department Store. Mortensen's wife was a non-striking Kahn's employee." The same information is also handwritten beneath the caption. Photo shows Mortensen wearing an army uniform being followed and yelled at by a large crowd of people. At the far right is a woman walking along with the crowd and just behind her an African American man laughing and also participating in the harrassement of Mortensen. In the background is Andy's Smoke Shop and California Coffee Shop.
