Tribune caption on the back, May 3, 1954- "When Kahn's spened in 1879, it was located in this building at 10th and Broadway, 25 persons were employed." The "10th and Broadway" has been crossed out and "12th and Washington" written under it. The photo shows the exterior of the department store that was named "Kahn Bros." at the time. The store occupys a corner lot with awning stretching over the sidewalk shading the windows. People are walking on the sidewalks. A car is parked at the curb in front of the store. Street lamps are also on the sidewalk with the three pronged globe lights.
