Tribune captions, Jan. 5, 1987- "It was goodbye to the holidays yesterday, as thousands of home-bound travelers poured through Oakaldn International Airporton one of the busiest traveling days of the year. Getting home from the mountains was tougher after more than 3 feet of snow fell in parts of the Sierras. Nationally, the holiday weekend death toll from 6 p.m. on New Year's Eve through last night exceeded 300." Nov. 30, 1990- "Starting tomorrow, consumers will start paying more to Uncle Sam travel by air." Photo shows passengers standing in line in front of a long ticket counter.
