Tribune caption, Oct. 20, 1955- "APARTMENT SITE- Oakland City Council is today studying the problem of rezoning for a multi-storied, garden-type apartment development and a small shopping center which would be built on abandoned quarry property (arrow) on Old Tunnel Road. At right in photo are Lake Temescal and Pacific Gas & Electric sub-station." Photo is an aerial view. In the bottom right corner is Lake Temescale and the substation with Broadway running parellel to it. In the upper left corner is the quarry.
