Clipping on the back of the photo says, "Jan. 15, 1939--Here is a section of the first crowd to leave bridge electric trains in the San Francisco Terminal for the ramps to the street. Passengers on yesterday's first trip inspected the gleaming new building to get their bearings before commuting the new way. They searched for landmarks, too, such as the familiar ones in the Ferry Building.-Tribune photo." Another clipping, "June 14, 1970--This was the scene at the San Francisco Terminal as the first trains crossed the Bridge in 1939." Photo shows two trains and people milling around on the platform by the trains.
