Handwritten on the back, "Looking South on Broadway from new store, July, 1929." The photo looks to be taken from the roof of the new Capwell's. Dozens of buildings can be seen including the City hall and the Tribune Tower. Electric streetcars and automobiles are in the street. The Orpheum Theater is visible as well as numerous signs for, "Smith Brothers Stationers, Oufwin Theater, Great Western Power Building, Fedeeral Drug Co, Roos Bros., First National Bank, Taft and Pennoyer, Heald College, and the Stewart Building.
