Handwritten on the back, "Looking South on Telegraph Ave. from new store, July, 1929." A view of the Oakland cityscape. Many buildings can be seen including the Fox Oakland Theater, the Stewart building and the top of the Tribune tower. A street car is in motion of the street as well as a number of automobiles. There are a few pedestrians walking the sidewalks and a clock in the lower right hand corner reads twelve o'clock. Many advertisements and bussiness names are visible including:"Fox Oakland Theater, Dufwin Theater, Heald College, Smith Brothers Stationers, Bedell of New York the largest women's apparel house in the world, Federal Drug Company, Kodak film, Byron Brothers Cutlery, Roos Brothers and the Oakland Health Food Store."
D. Curry, 1-6-97: Fairly good exterior view of the Fox Oakland theatre in the bottom right hand corner of the photo.
