Handwritten on the back of the photo in red pencil, "U.S.S. Huston at Oakland dock awaiting arrival of Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt. 7/14/38." Photo shows a ship at dock with her sailors lined up at the railing, all standing at attention. Walking behind the sailors are Naval officers and several men in civilian clothes (presumably Secret Service agents). At the front of the ship is a flag flying in the breeze. The photo is taken fron the stern of the ship looking forward so the ships barrels of the ships machine guns are visible.
