This is a wedding picture of Helen Mary Smith and Harry Price Harmon when they married at her family's home, 871 54th Street, Oakland, California, on August 25, 1934. Left to right: Thomas McKee Livingstone, best man; Helen Mary Smith, bride; Harry Price Harmon, groom; Edith Lucy Smith (the bride's sister), maid of honor. The bride's dress was of white lace, bias cut, on her head she wore a little cap with a pleated edge, she carried gardenias. Her sister's dress (the maid of honor) was probably light blue (they were "partial to blue") her wreath was probably made of artificial flowers to match the dress and she carried roses (probably pink). When Helen and Harry got their marriage license it cost $2.00, and as an added bonus they were given a cookbook.
