Photograph shows Joan Merriam standing on the wing of her plane accepting a large bouquet of roses from a man standing on the ground beside her plane. A Both Merriam and the man are laughing. There is some handwritting on the back, probably made by Bill Crouch, but it is illegible except for the words "Joan Merriam, Man: George Vukasin (Oakland Port Authority)...". The photograph appears to have been taken at the Oakland Airport Merriam duplicated Amelia Earhart's flight around the world in 1964. Original envelope said "Merriam, Joan A. Lady Flier, died 2-17-65."
