This quilt block was entered in the "School Quilt Block Competition, 1998, co-sponsored by P & B Textiles and the Oakland Museum of California. Students had to incorporate into their quilt block three pieces of P & B textiles (provided to them through the competition kit) which had been developed from 19th century fabrics in the collections of the Oakland Museum of California. An exhibition "Fabrications" was held at the museum from May 16 - July 5, 1998. This block was made by three 5th grade students: Francisco Garcia, Hector Cruz and Antonio Enciso, from Laurel School, Oakland, Eric Meyer, teacher. The block received a Special Honorable Memntion for Creativity. It has the three P & B abrics in the center, with green fabric all around.
