Photo shows a parlor or sitting room of the Delger house. There is a round table in the middle of the room covered with a tablecloth. Hanging above the table is a gas chandelier. Several chairs, one of which is wicker, are spread around the room. On the far wall is a fireplace with nicknacks on the mantle. Next to the fireplace (not visible in the previous photo) is a built-in glass fronted cabinet. There is a wide arched doorway connecting this room to the one next door. Elaborate drapes are hanging in this arch (to be closed to separate the two rooms). At the top of the walls is a very wide and elaborate molding with ivy stencil painted here and there. (D. Curry, 8/12/99) Per Inez Brooks-Myers- she pointed out that one of the chairs is a cained chair as well as the wicker chairs. There is also a portier in the room and a painted plate on the mantel. The chandlier is a gas/electric combo.
