Attributed by Mr. Sidney Ashkenazie of Ashkenazie & Co., 1983: "Pair of standing figures seen in style of T'ang dancing figures. Each figure is seen with a long draped garment of flowing variety. There are streamers on front of garments in high relief. Back area of robes are seen with elaborate streamers also. Hair work is piled high and coiled in back with flower decoration at each side. Hands are stylized and held high. One figure is holding a peony and a rose; second figure is holding a cricket and flower. Hands on both figures are detachable. Facial features are gracefully depicted and with a serene expression. Colour is deep apple green with areas of white. The stand is of wood in a barrow shape showing a floral and leaf design. Chinese workmanship. Late 19th century."
