The Grand Central Hotel at 12th & Webster Streets in downtown Oakland before it was destroyed by fire at an unspecified date. It is a four-storey hotel covering a full city block, with three separate covered carriage entrances. Horses and carriages are shown in this photo [probably copied by M.L. Cohen at a later date] at the curb. A sign on the side of the first floor of the hotel bears an advertisement for S. Splivalo & Co. Grand Central Grocery. What appears to be a set of streetcar tracks parallels the front of the hotel.
