Exhibit Name: Oakland Airport - A walk back in time |
| |
Overview: Few people who pass through modern-day Oakland Airport realize that the original 1920's airport is still there. Ride the rental car shuttle, leave the rental car center, turn left, and walk up Earhart Road. The buildings marked 5 through 1 are original hangars. The executive aviation building was the terminal (Administration Building). The vacant pastel-colored building was the hotel. Stop for a second and think of pioneer aviators like Amelia Earhart, who flew from this very spot! |
