Rectangular political badge used in Richard Nixon's unsuccessful run for the office of Governor of California. Metal tab folds over at the top. The front is blue, with a map of the state of California printed in yellow, "Nixon" printed vertically in blue. On back side of tab is written Green Duck Co. Chicago.

Richard Nixon (1913-1994) was elected to Congress in 1946 and 1948; elected to the Senate in 1950; served as Vice President from 1952-1960; lost the Presidential race in 1960 to John Kennedy; ran unsuccessfully for Governor in 1962; and was elected President in 1968 and 1972, resigning in 1974 under threat of impeachment.
