Not the Best But One of The Oldest

White card stock, printed in black, yellow and green: "Jack Irwin, Not The Best But One of The Oldest, Professional Aviator, Bolinas, Cal." The back of the card is printed with the following: "Feb. 20, 1938, 'Believe It or Not' Robert Ripley says-- That Jack Irwin has over 9000 air hours and has been flying since 1907. Made 29 New Year's Day flights to date. Holds International Pilots License, issued by Orville Wright and valid in 22 countries, also regular U.S. Dept. of Commerce, Commercial Flight Instructors License. In World War One was employed as spin instructor and test pilot for U.S. Signal Corps and Thomas Morse Aircraft Corp. Is a member of the Early Birds, exclusive organization of aviators who flew prior to 1914 (end quote). Was pioneer Air Mail pilot and in 1938 presented National Air Mail Certificate in recognition of service by Postmaster General, James A. Farley. In World War Two was employed by Eleventh U.S. Naval Aircraft Dist. as final acceptance flight Inspector. Since 1938 has missed only 3 New Year's Day flights."
