The Tribune photo, dated September 27, 1987, has the following caption on the back: "Rod Ellis, the lead pilot of the Ray-Ban Gold Acrobatic team, guides his team over the East Bay." Two biplanes fly wing-to-wing. Rod Ellis is in the plane closest to the camera. The plane to his left carries the logo of the Ray-Ban Gold team on its fuselage.
