Recipie booklet features about 100 recipies for soups, appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Printed in black and white, the front cover of the booklet depicts a miniature chef standing on a ladder above a bowl of salad with tomatoes and lettuce, sprinkinling a seasoning on the salad. Below him are a spoon and a fork, to scale with the bowl.According to the introduction on the second page, "this booklet contains recipes devised and treasured by Southern Pacific chefs. Many of them are specialties featured in our dining cars." The booklet also features a list of 10 'don'ts for housewives,' a list of cooking times for meats, vegetables, and baked goods, as well as a table for converting weights and measures.
