THE PRICE
A leaking offshore oil well fouled beaches in California in February, 1969. Shown here are cleaning-up operations at Santa Barbara. The growing domestic demand for petroleum products has prompted the industry to search for new reserves: and offshore drilling has been pushed forward in spite of the expense, and the pollution risks, invloved.
