Back of photo notes: Hetch Hetchy tunnel cave-in Aug 29, 1932
Rescruers? Approximately 18 men standing beneath wooden structure -- large support beams.poles next to elevator? There are chains hanging from the support poles, one of which is tied in a knot about 4' above the ground. There is a building behind the chain with a light in front. There are two cables to the right of the chains from the top to the middle of the photo. What could be an elevator is behind a man with his hands in his pockets. A man is on the other side of the elevator -- torso only showing, no head. The backround is of the hillside with two trees and some sort of other vegetation. It is a sunny day as there are shadows on the elevator and ground. There is a white area above the man in the suit and tie.
One man in a suit, tie and hat. Half of men looking at camera. Many with lights on their hats. All men (excpet one) in work clothes -- heavy fabric for shirts and jacekts, caps or hats and boots/waders. Men in middle of photo appear to be wearing hats with hoses/tubes which connect to a small box on belt.
