From back of photo: "Assemblywoman March ong, March of Dimes Alameda Co. poster boy David Shadwick. 2 col x 4 1/2" Sun Soc EP Clubs." From caption portion of newspaper cutout: "Jan 23, 1972 March Fong, March of Dimes county chairman, Poster Boy David Shadwick." Stamped on back of photo: "Bordunaro & Zarcone - Photographers - (address given & telephone number) . Please ask for file number when ordering additional copies of this print." There are two people in the photograph. A Chinese woman and a young (2-3 years old?) caucasian boy, standing on a chair or table, are in front of drapery. A cloth sign is behind the boy that reads: "The March of Dimes." The rest of the sign is obscurbed by the boy's head. The sign has an opening at the top where a stick goes through. Each end of the stick has a stassel; a wire is also at each end that is then secured to another wire for hanging. Both parties are looking at a large button that reads: "Give to the March of Dimes." The boy is wearing such a button. On the left side of the photo is a smiling Mrs. Fong. She is wearing a light colored, double breasted suit without collar. The suit has six buttons showing and a dark belt. She wears a dark turtleneck under the suit; the neck of the turtleneck has a band of a light color -- possibly the same color as the suit. A chain necklace and earrings are also visible as well as a bracelet made up of rounds on her right wrist. Also on that hand are two rings: the one on her middle finger appears to be a flower, possible in silver or gold, and on the ring fnger is an oval (stone?) ring. On her left wrist there may be a watch. Her dark hair is, for the most part, pulled behind her ears and done in a bouffant/teased style. On the right side of the photo is David Shadwick, Alameda County March of Dimes Poster Boy. He must be on a table as Mrs. Fong is not looking down at him. He appears to be approximately 2-3 years old. His clothes appear to be of a knitted cloth. His top is that of a short-sleeve polo shirt and three buttons are visible. His shorts are also of a knitted cloth and end just above the knee. He may also be wearing light colored knee sox. He has light colored short hair and long eye lashes. Both he and Mrs. Fong are holding the buttons "Give t teh March of Dimes."
