This is one in a series of 12 textiles by Dorothe Gould Pratt given to the Oakland Museum of California. Much of her textile work was done in and/or inspired by time she lived in Turkey. The repeat pattern printed on this piece appears to have been inspired by architectural elements. A balanced scroll pattern, the top center of which is decorated with three extended "leaves" with two angular "loops" interjected between the repeating scrool patterns.
