Metal rectangular can with lid. Red color with black printing in front: "Desalter kit, sea water, Mark 2 TypeII, MDF Van Brode Milling Co. Assembled 1st. Qt. 1967" It also has instructions for its use. It has a cord for hanging; appears to be full. Used in emergency rafts in the US Navy Ship General Nelson M. Walker. The last transports done by the ship before it was taken out of service was to bring troops from Vietnam in 1967. This is a collection of artifacts found on the ship after it was taken out of service.
