San Francisco, 1939; Golden Gate International Exposition, 1939

Souvenir hard hat (hellmet) painted red, with a metyallic gold decal on either side reading: San Francisco, 1939. At the front is a decal (rainbow-shaped) with a tall arch super-imposed over that. The "rainbow shap" is in metallic gold and two tones of red. The center arch is black (depicting a night time scene of the Tower of the Sun, an elephant topped buildin, shrubs in the foreground and searchlights in the night sky. In a band running across the bottom of the decal, printed on a green srtip (with metallic gold scallops above) is "Golden Gate International Exposition, 1939." At the top of the brim, on either side, is a cut out slot, probably meant for a chin strap, which is missing. Toward the back of the helmet, but on the top, is a torn, metallic gold decal in an Art Deco style pattern of three stripes.
