This appears to be a spirit house, composed of wooden sticks and fronds, lashed together with vine. Ms. Pannett had received the model on a trip to the reservation, when she was ill with cancer. She kept it for years at the front of her door. Upon Ms. Pannett's death, it was given to her daughter, who gave it to donor's mother, Norma Bunzel. Donor states 'basket' is similar to one in San Fernando Mission. PCK
