Chaiken
This pair of "chino" or "khaki" trousers were designed to ride low on the pregnant female body. Created by Julie Chaiken, San Francisco, for "Chaiken with Child"--the label she uses for her maternity line--the trousers are tan, stretchy and have a very wide elastic waistband. The fly front is fastened with a short nylon zipper in matching tan. The Chaiken label (white cloth, brocaded in gray) is stitched in the waist, back.
These trousers were featured with a black top (2007.38.1) in a fashion article on maternity wear by Sylvia Rubin in the Sunday, July 7, 2002 issue of "San Francisco Chronicle Magazine."
