Ceramic salad plate with lavender glaze has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. A drawing of an ibex in the style of cave paintings from Lascaux, France appears in brown glaze over a rectangle of blue at center. The ibex has rings drawn around its neck and it faces the left side of the plate.
Plates were commissioned when the artist was in residence at Menlo Park, and they were inspired by the imagery of cave paintings in Lascaux, France. The paintings were discovered a few years prior to the date of commission.
