Altar cloth. Used in California/Mexico border communion services conducted by donor, John Fanestil for people crossing the border. Purple and black cotton. Embroidered to imitate a "picked in" brocade. The style is similar to the flame stich. A traditonal Mexican weave. The fabric is warp faced. Fringe is excess warp and not knotted or finished.
