Cap of plain weave white cotton (like cheese cloth) that is printed blue (leaving white stars) and red; the crown is white. It is lined with a stiffer, but equally inexpensive white cloth; the interior head band is red.. The cap is trimmed with red cotton cording and two tassels on one side.

This cap was worn in Sacramento by Laura Josephine Holmes Scheiber (born December 25, 1891), for a Liberty Bond Drive during World War I. It is difficult to tell whether this cap was made at home, or commercially sewed. The cap was worn with dress (2010.39.1).
