Above the circle is a red sunrise, with wild rays moving in all directions. Centered at the top of the poster is "City Dance / A Celebration Of Ourselves & Our City". The rest of the poster has details for the event, including a schedule down the left and right sides and recommendations on how to enjoy the event.

This joyous event was organized by San Francisco Dance Workshop artistic director Anna Halprin, who described her vision in the San Francisco Chronicle: "We need to create San Francisco as a safe, peaceful, creative place. These events offer an opportunity for us to move in that direction, to appreciate San Francisco as an art form, ourselves as dancers within that art form, and the events as unifying rituals reflecting the unique values and lifestyles characteristic of San Francisco and the Bay Area."
