Poster shows an older man using a typewriter on the left side of the poster. On the right side of the poster is text printed in green on a yellow background. The text reads "Word-Play / I / Take away the sign -- (man) from the sign -- for prison, Add to it -- (probability) that makes the word -- (nation) Take the head-particle from the sign -- for misfortune: That gives the word -- (fidelity), Add the sign -- for man (standing) to the sign -- for worry That gives the word -- (quality). Take away the bamboo top -- from the sign -- for prison That gives you -- (dragon). / II / People who come out of prison can build up the country. Misfortune is a test of people's fidelity. Those who protest at injustice are people of true merit. When the prison-doors are opened, the real dragon will fly out. Ho Chi Minh." The text had characters that could not be typed. In the place of the characters, I put two dash marks. The words in parenthesis were printed that way in the text (EMJ, 5/16/11). Ho Chi Minh, in addition to being a significant political and military leader in Viet Nam, was also an accomplished poet. [LMC]
