The poster is laminated overall. The background of the poster is a stylized photograph of several women in dresses. One of the women is holding a dark colored sign on which the text: "California / Equal Suffrage / Association" can be read. The left side of the poster has two rows of photos laid out in a checkerboard pattern, there are five photos in all and they each depict women in various occupations: police officer, athlete, politician, laborer, and clergy. Interspersed throughout these five main photos are images of buttons bearing various political slogans like: "Black / Feminism / Lives!", and "Boxer / Senate". There is also a small amount of text accompanying each photo that relates to women's history in the related occupations. The right side of the poster has the text: "Living / The / Legacy / Of / Women's / Rights". The bottom edge has the text: "National Women's History Month March 1998".
