The San Francisco-based Pickle Family Circus was founded in 1974 and was one of the many arts organizations that flourished with funding from the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA). It was collectively-run and everyone received the same pay. Among Pickle alumni are well-known talents Bill Irwin and Geoff Hoyle. [LMC]
