The front and back covers of this Oakland cook book are made of a highly textured tan paper, the front cover is printed in blue: "Navy Mothers, Cook Book, By Oakland Navy Mothers Club, No. 13, Oakland, California." The interior pages are white, printed in black and feature a variety of recipes. Page 66 has "Meatless Dishes for Meatless Days" indicative of the meat rationing in progress on the homefront.
