Quilt top. Description: one quilt top of fancy fabrics, (velvets, taffetas, brocades, etc.) embroidered in perfect condition. History: These items were made by Mrs. Washburn's mother and grandmother in Oakland c. 1900. Mrs. Washburn graduated from Oakland High in 1906, her grandmother died that year. Mrs. Washburn also graduated from U.C. (Inez Brooks-Myers 4/96) Lavish embroidery blocks set on point with wine-colored velveteen sashing with snowflake-like motifs at joins.
