Pair of shoes. Description: Women's bottines sewn by machine. They are ankle high, have a seam from the ankle to just before the toe area, and lace on the inner ankle from the sole to the ankle. Twenty eyelets are used for the lacing, and they are worked in brown thread. The open edges of the laced area and ankle are bound in dark brown binding tape, as is the tongue behind the laced portion. The soles, which are differentiated by right and left, are of leather. The heel is approximately 5/8" higher than the rest of the sole and is very dark brown on its sides. Each sole has a small hole at its toe and an "M" imprinted on its arch. The exterior fabric is a chocolate brown silk twill fabric, while the interior is an off-white woven fabric. Brown-black leather covers thee area just above the sole on the upper part of the shoe, and covers a great portion of the toe area. The shoes are worn. a.) Right shoe - A dark brown shiny fabric lace with a gold colored metal end. Just above the leather toe section it can be seen where three strips of leather were once placed. Handwritten in brown ink on the top inside of the tongue is "5 1/2" and "m". b.) Left shoe - A rust colored shiny fabric lace with a gold colored metal end. Just above the leather toe section it can be seen where two leather bands perpendicular to the length of the foot still exist and one other was once placed. Handwritten in brown ink on the top inside of the tongue is "5 1/2" and "m". Dimensions: a.) 10" long, 1-3/4" wide heel at widest point, 2-1/2" at widest point at ball of shoe, 5" height at highest point. b.) (same as a.)
