Clipping on the back, "Aug. 1, 1960--HOLE THROUGH TEXANS--In their first appearance as a professional football team, the Oakland Raiders showed promise of development. One such occasion was this, when Buddy Allen (24) had a big hole through which to pick up six yards. Leading him through after the hand-off from Tome Flores (15) is Wayne Hawkins (65) . Applying the block at left is Bill Lot (31). Dallas rallied for a 20-13 victory in Kezar." From exhibition label: "FIRST OAKLAND RAIDERS GAME, July 31, 1960--Buddy Allen (24) receives a hand-off from Tom Flores (15) and picks up a six-yard gain against the Dallas Texans. The Texans defeated the Raiders 14-13 at Kezar Stadium in front of 12,000 fans in the 1960 preseason contest. Allen, a former Oakland prep star, scored the first and second touchdowns in Raiders' history, but did not make the final cut for the regular season roster. The Raiders were the last team awarded an AFL franchise in 1960, and as a result, had to scramble for remaining available playrs. The late start in attracting players contributed to the Raiders' 9-33 record in the first three years of the franchise."
