Clipping on the back, December 23, 1942-- "Jim Ford of Lafayette, burner leaderman, is pictured operating the pantograph device with which multiple burning operations are performed at Moore Drydock. Upper photo details the guiding wheel which transmits the design to the burning torches controlled by the block of switches at the right. Below is the machine equipped with four torches, half of its full capacity. The operation pictured is that of buning plate hooks. -Tribune photo." Photo shows a man wearing a heavy, long-sleeved shirt under a pair of leather overalls, a hat and goggles as he leans over a piece of machinery guiding a device over a pattern on a piece of metal.
