The cups and saucers in this collection come from Della's Tea Cup Cafe, 7309 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland, which was established in February, 1967. The cafe is noted for, and decorated with, a very large collection of tea cups. Some of the cups were purchased by the owner, others were presented to her as gifts, while still others were made for her. A: Cup, with straight sides tapering to the foot; inside and outside are decorated with maidenhair fern decals in brown, from the rim edge hanging down. The rim and the handle are decorated with stripes of metallic gold. Small numbers drawn on the bottom "14 2806 7". B: Saucer, matches the cup in decoration, except only the inside of the saucer is decorated with maidenhair fern, in brown, from the rim edge, hanging down. Rim is striped with metallic gold. Mark on the bottom of cup and saucer reads: R.N.97858. Collector's paper tag reads: "35XX".
