The cups and saucers in this collection come from Della's Tea Cup Cafe, 7309 MacArthur Boulevard, Oakland, which was established in February, 1967. The cafe is noted for, and decorated with, a very large collection of tea cups. Some of the cups were purchased by the owner, others were presented to her as gifts, while still others were made for her. A: Cup, very ornate decoration applied just under the scalloped lip; interior is plain white, with two metallic gold lines at the top. Exterior has applied scrolls and swags, and a flower. Rim is metallic gold, flower is pink, surrounded by metallic gold, on a field of green, with yellow swags below. The bottom is mauve. The handle is white with a few metallic gold lines. B": Saucer, fluted interior is mauve, dark at the edge to pale in the center. Scalloped rim, and smooth center are both decorated with a single line of metallic gold. Collector's paper tag on the bottom reads: "9X".
