The final section is a field of flowers (the wagon train made it to the great central valley of California). The three P & B Textiles/Oakland Museum of California fabrics used are a blue quatrefoil, a yellow, green and soft red geometric print, and a yellow fabric printed with light red and red acorns and oak leaves. Various other solid colored and printed fabrics are employed. Various colored threads are used in the applique. Oakland Museum of California staff added velcro to the back for exhibition mounting. The edges have been turned under and hemmed.
