A group of children is inside a van reading and looking at books. The van is called a "bookmobile," and, according to the information on the back of the photo, a part of the Oakland Acorn Project. The van, and a librarian (possibly shown from behind at the lower left corner) bring books to the neighborhoods. In this scene eight children are squeezed into the back of the van, on whose interior walls there are rack of books.
