"Oaks" "Baseball Bat Toothbrush, Professionally designed for better dental health. Recommended by Dentists and Hygienists." "Ora Care, Pat.Pend, Made in Taiwan."

Tootbrush in unopened, in original clear plastic bag. The bag is printed in blue, underscored in red "Baseball Bat Toothbrush;" blue lettering: "Professionally designed for better dental health. Recommended by Dentists and Hygienists." "Ora Care...Pat Pend. Made in Taiwan." (A red star in the middle of the "O" in "Ora.") The Offical Licensee, Major League Baseball logo is also printed in red, white and blue. Inside package is a white plastic disk (self-adhesive strip on the back) imprinted with two red oak leaves behind a blue outlined acorn, "Oaks," with a red outlined baseball on the acorn, the cicrcile of the ball stands for the "O" in "Oaks." Suspended from the disk is a tan plastic tooth brush, the handle of which is in the shape of a baseball bat.

This object is interesting because the Oakland Oaks were not a major league team; they were in the Pacific Coast League. The use of the major league logo is unusual. This was a souvenir evidently given away at a game and received by the uncle of the donor probably sometime around 1953-54.
