He portrays the muscular vitality and energy needed to survive work on the rails./ The iron men follow other track crew workers and pull the old, quarter mile track lenghts onto rail cars by using both machines and sheer physical strength. Their work is often unseen by ohter track crew workers who are far ahead, taking out old track and setting the new."
